How to Lose Belly Fat
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009If you are like just about everyone else you have one area of your body were fat accumulates. For me it is my belly, for some others it might be the butt, hips, or thighs. It really is almost 100% genetic. One of the most asked questions in all of fitness is, “How do I lose belly fat?”.
Unfortunately, the answer is that you lose it just like any other kind of fat. It is actually impossible to spot reduce. Think about this for a second. If there is a very fat man or women and he or she wants to lose the fat around their chin or neck what would you recommend? How about chewing gum? If that person chews gum all the time is that going to cause them to lose weight from their chin? Absolutely not. This is no different than all of those infomercials you see on tv about all sorts of different products that you can use to lose weight from your stomach.
The way the body loses weight is in layers. Think of your body as an onion. An onion has many layers and you can peel those layers off one by one until you have no onion. Your body loses weight in the same manner. It doesn’t know you want to lose it in one area so it metabolizes fat cells from your entire body.
I hope this helps to bust any myths that people still believe about spot reduction. My goal is to help you lose weight from your entire body so you are healthier and your entire body looks better.
